We are seeking an experienced Photonics Team Lead to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and commercialization of our photonics-based medical devices. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting and innovative projects, and have a direct impact on the success of our company.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the photonics team, including setting project goals, managing budgets and schedules, and coordinating resources to ensure successful product development.
  • Conduct research and development activities to advance the state-of-the-art in photonics technology for medical devices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, regulatory, quality, and clinical, to ensure successful product development.
  • Manage the regulatory approval process for Class III medical devices, ensuring compliance with FDA and MDR requirements and international standards.
  • Write and review technical documentation, including design control documents, test reports, and regulatory submissions.
  • Present research results, publish papers, and participate in industry conferences and events.
  • Mentor and coach team members, and provide technical leadership to advance the skills and knowledge of the photonics team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Optics, Photonics, or a related field. Master's or PhD degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the development of photonics-based medical devices, including experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong background in photonics, optics, and optical engineering, with experience in the design and development of photonic components and systems.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Experience in regulatory compliance for medical devices, including a good understanding of the MDR and FDA's regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Experience with quality management systems and quality assurance processes, including knowledge of ISO 13485 and 21 CFR Part 820.
