THE POSITION


As newest member of CBD Finance & Group Functions Global Facilities & Engineering (GFE) bundles EHS, Security, Real Estate & Facility Management and Engineering globally, striving to serve BI’s site network as strong infrastructure and business partner.

Global CAPEX Management is accountable for all big CAPEX projects worldwide.

As part of the Global CAPEX Project Management Team, the Senior Engineering Manager will be responsible for the successful management of big CAPEX Projects (> EUR 50M).

Tasks & responsibilities


  • As Senior Engineering Manager you coordinate and manage all engineering discipline Lead Engineers working within a large CAPEX Project.
  • You provide leadership that ensures that all multidiscipline engineering activities are aligned, dependencies are considered within project schedule and budget are coordinated.
  • Moreover, you lead and guide the engineering interface management during all project phases (entire project lifecycle) in different areas of technology (e.g. Bio, API).
  • You prepare and issue the project engineering concepts and project specifications as well as collecting the User Requirements Specifications (URS).
  • Furthermore, you organize and prepare the engineering procedures and specific plans as required, ensuring that the project engineering team is performing in accordance with the agreed standards and requirements.
  • With your expertise in engineering management, you will drive innovation by identifying and incorporating new technical solutions and technologies in the project designs.
  • Moreover, you will partner with design firms to ensure the delivering the project designs.
  • You direct, review and approve all engineering documents and drive associated changes.


Requirements

  • Degree in engineering (Dipl. Ing. / M. Sc..) or comparable (mechanical / process / chemical or equivalent)
  • Long-term general engineering project management experience, thereof several years of experience in CAPEX investment projects in international environment
  • Excellent project and engineering management skills and expertise of large CAPEX projects as well as long-standing professional experience as Engineering Manager in global, strategic CAPEX projects in the life science and pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong knowledge of cGMP/GLP regulations, ICH, FDA CMC, ISPE and PDA Guidance documents is preferred
  • Good understanding of EHS and Quality aspects in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Good understanding of engineering management within the project execution (FEL1 / FEL2 / FEL3 / Basic & Detail Design)
  • Strong project management skills with production and / or production planning experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Broad leadership experience in an international environment, combined with excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills as well as empathic communication skills
  • Willingness to relocate and travel
