Job Details

I am partnered with one of my trusted clients, who are specialists in the Neurology and the Rare Diseases space. Due to an internal promotion to the EU team, this senior leadership role (Head of) has become available for the UK affiliate.

This is the most senior position in the affiliate in medical, where you will have 5+ direct reports (AD level) with 10+ indirect reports below them. You are responsible for the ENTIRE portfolio of in-line products and pipeline which, due to new leadership, has an exciting future in NEW areas for the business.

You report into EU and the UK General Manager in this cross-functional role, and have the opportunity to sit on the EU leadership team where you can take on highly visible regional projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the UKI Medical team
  • Ensure excellence in medical-scientific leadership in all therapeutic areas by developing and implementing strategies across Evidence Generation, Medical Education, External Stakeholder Engagement etc.
  • Develop strategies and programs (including patient support programs) in alignment with the affiliate Commercial Organisation, Value & Access Team, Regulatory Team, Clinical Research Team, the regional Medical Team as well as other cross-functional partners
  • Manage the UKI Medical budget 
  • Ensure the highest ethical standards and guarantee that compliance SOPs are implemented and followed
  • Ensure all materials and activities are compliant with Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) Code of Practice
  • Support regulatory strategies for registration of new products by providing local expertise
  • Act as a local partner for R&D for pipeline and new products

Requirements:

  • MD/MBBS/MBChB, PhD or Advanced Life Sciences degree
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Biotech/Pharma
  • Worked previously in Neurology or Rare Disorder 
  • Extensive direct line management experience spanning at least 4 years
  • UK Healthcare System knowledge and experience in HTA/NICE submissions
  • Commercial collaboration experience and passion to bridge medical and commercial together
