We are currently hiring an experienced Executive Director of Biometrics to join our team. As Executive Director, you will initially play a key role in building Rho’s Biometrics group in Poland. You will provide strategic oversight and lead Rho’s Biometrics group in Poland. You will also contribute to the overall strategy and optimize the delivery of our biometrics services and, as the first leader within Biometrics in the EU, you’ll have the opportunity for growth into higher levels of leadership opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with global biometrics, build and lead a high-performing biostatistics, statistical programming, and data management team with optimum working practices; help to set business strategy, evaluate and develop solutions for project resourcing, department growth, quality considerations, timelines, budgets, processes, and training needs.
  • Attract, develop, engage and retain top talent; provide effective coaching, feedback and performance management to team members; oversee merit increase processes.
  • Achieve key business metrics. Identify and communicate risks to the business and develop solution-oriented approaches to address or mitigate risk.
  • Identify and troubleshoot operational problems, issues, obstacles and barriers for studies based on metrics data, audit reports, and input from team members.
  • Monitor and assess the progress status of ongoing projects.
  • Ensure high quality standards, on time delivery within budget for all stages of the clinical trials. Ensure staff fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with policies, procedures, SOPs, ICH-GCPs, and country specific regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate existing and new regulations and global guidelines as well as industry trends relevant to biometrics.
  • Partner with Organizational Development team to manage, plan, create, and present learning and training opportunities; ensures staff compliance with assigned trainings.
  • Provide leadership skills to influence and promote consistent approaches to team's activities as well as utilization of best practices.
  • Participate in quality efforts for continuous improvement. Represent Rho and its Biometrics function at internal project team meetings, client meetings, audits and external events.
  • Support business development activities by contributing to proposals, client presentations, and providing time and cost estimates for biometrics activities.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree or PhD in biostatistics, statistics, computer science (or related field) as well as 15 years of work experience in the CRO/Pharmaceutical industry and 8 years management experience with a proven capacity as a successful leader in a strategic multifunctional environment; global experience preferred.
  • Strong technical and operational skills in biostatistics, statistical programming, or data management.
  • Understanding of clinical trials including knowledge of applicable clinical research regulatory requirements; i.e., Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines
  • Natural ability to collaborate to work as one team and accomplish team goals; Integrity, a commitment to quality, and the ability to think critically and creatively in a fast-paced, changing environment Understanding of business concepts and experience in using strategic processes to make good business recommendations and decisions
  • Strong business acumen; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to identify challenges, inefficiencies or downstream impacts as well as potential solutions and engagement of appropriate stakeholders to minimize risk and maximize quality of deliverables
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels both within and outside the company
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities with exceptional organizational and time management skills Experience interacting with sponsors is required
