As the Supply Chain Manager, you will be focusing on 3 key components - Procurement, Logistics, and Inventory Management.
The role and responsibilities are not limited to:
Procurement
- Manage procurement activities and sourcing strategies.
- Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organisation partnerships.
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.
- Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services.
- Finalise purchase details of orders and deliveries.
- Examine and test existing contracts.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Collaborate with key QA persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
- Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients.
- Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.
- Provide monthly reports and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement plans, and progress reports as required. Maintain and update all procurement files and transaction tracking matrices.
- Provide all necessary documentation to vendors regarding Vendor Assurance Program and collate information for QA review and approval.
Logistics
- Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services
- Direct, optimise and coordinate full order cycle.
- Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
- Arrange warehouse, catalogue goods, plan routes and process shipments.
- Resolve any arising problems or complaints.
- Supervise, coach and train warehouse workforce.
- Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.
Inventory Management
- Create metrics and develop reporting on KPI’s such as DIFOT, inventory levels, slow and obsolete stock.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels are held aiming to reduce inventory value whilst increasing service levels.
- Ensure safety stock mitigates risk due to fluctuations in demand.
- Tertiary qualified with 5+ years' experience in similarly industries.
- A strong understanding of inventory planning with the ability to develop processes and standardisation across the business.
- Able to implement inventory management policy across ordering, min/max, safety, and slow/obsolete stock.
- Experience in managing suppliers and driving efficiencies through order patterns and planning systems.
- Computer literate with exposure to ERP systems
- Commercially savvy with the ability to identify opportunities to reduce cost.
- Must be a team player who is motivated, driven, and can drive change in an inclusive and collaborative.
