Junior Data Scientist
We are a biotechnology company seeking a Junior Data Scientist to join our team and help drive data-driven decision making for drug development and discovery. As a Junior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting large data sets from various sources such as high-throughput screening, personalised cancer immunotherapies and clinical trials to inform drug discovery and development decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including biologists, chemists and clinicians to identify key data trends and insights and develop models and algorithms to optimize drug candidates’ selection, pre-clinical and clinical development.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyse large data sets from various sources such as high-throughput screening, genomics and clinical trials to inform drug discovery and development decisions.
- Use statistical and machine learning techniques to identify patterns and trends in the data, such as drug targets and mechanisms of action
- Develop and implement predictive models and algorithms to optimize drug candidates’ selection, pre-clinical and clinical development.
- Communicate findings and insights to cross-functional teams and inform decision making
- Continuously monitor and improve the performance of models and algorithms
Qualifications:
- PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Biotechnology or a related field
- Strong understanding of statistical and machine learning concepts
- Experience with programming languages such as Python and ML Frameworks like TensorFlow or Pytorch
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Background or interest in Biotechnology and drug development is a plus
