We are recruiting for our Clinical Pathology team in Harrogate, North Yorkshire and are seeking to hire an experienced Senior Laboratory Scientist to oversee the scientific and technical support of Clinical, Toxicology Safety Assessment (SA), and standalone studies over a wide range of platforms, supporting enhanced solutions based approach to Clients requests.

Main responsibilities include:
  • Providing a high level of Scientific and Technical knowledge for the Clinical Pathology Laboratory in a Global team.
  • Running of specialist functions and projects within the department, which includes data checking, validation work, quality control assessments and other company projects.
  • Technical duties within Clinical Pathology Services using a variety of Haematology and Chemistry analysers to obtain results for Toxicological and Clinical samples.
  • Participating in all procedures in the operational areas of CPS. These include assays, metrology and general laboratory support duties.
  • Having a clear understanding of GLP/GCP/SOPs and their implications for Clinical Pathology department, and to work in strict accordance with them at all times.

  • Biomedical Science Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

You will need to demonstrate:
  • Experience in Clinical Pathology / Haematology
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good user knowledge of software applications required for example LIMS.
  • Good verbal, numerical and visual skills and excellent manual dexterity.
  • A commitment to fostering a high professional standard and encouraging good staff relationships.
  • A conscientious, disciplined, flexible and adaptable approach, having a sense of responsibility and ensuring that work is performed accurately and precisely and in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) is desirable
