Job Details

Owlstone Medical (www.owlstonemedical.com) is on a mission to save 100,000 lives and $1.5 billion in healthcare costs through the development and application of Breath Biopsy®. This involves collecting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and respiratory droplets from breath, which can provide information about metabolic activity and markers related to health and disease.

The HR Advisor contributes to the attainment of specific goals and results of the HR department and the organization. The candidate will work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the end-to-end running of HR operations and initiatives.

Key Tasks / Accountabilities

  • Develop and deliver on HR OKRs in line with business need
  • Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests
  • Schedule meetings, HR events etc. and maintain the team’s agenda
  • Issue letters to employees for any types of employment changes
  • Perform induction for new starters
  • Process new starters and leavers paperwork
  • Arrange onboarding conversations with employees and take follow-up actions based on feedback received
  • Manage and administer employees’ records in the HR Information System (HiBob)
  • Set up employee engagement surveys and analyse employees’ answers
  • Raise purchase orders/purchase authorisations to cover departmental expenses
  • Review and update HR policies in compliance with employment laws and regulations
  • Report on key HR metrics and produce monthly HR KPI report for Leadership Team
  • Prepare reports of data results from a variety of sources including industry trends, competitor analysis, company statistics
  • Gather benchmark data about jobs, compensation and benefits
  • Work on ad-hoc HR projects and initiatives, often joining other groups in the business
  • Identify gaps/opportunities and deliver solutions to standardise, automate and simplify HR processes which support the employee lifecycle
  • Support the wider HR team with operational tasks and responsibilities
  • Mentor more junior staff members

Requirements

  • Education & Training

  • Degree level educated, or equivalent experience.
  • A recognised HR qualification – CIPD preferred

Experience / Knowledge

  • Previous experience in a HR role
  • Knowledge of HR processes and best practices
  • Experience with HR databases and HRIS
