As a Laboratory Support Technician within our Genetic Toxicology team based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire you will play an integral part in achieving our mission by providing laboratory based technical and operational support to colleagues working on studies in both our in vitro and in vivo areas.

Whilst training you will learn a broad range of standard technical laboratory skills and techniques including how to work to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

The role is a permanent position and can be offered on a full time, part-time or flexible basis.

Duties Include:
  • Conducting prep work for all departmental assays as assigned
  • Maintenance, cleaning and calibration of equipment within all laboratory areas
  • Ensuring that plentiful consumable items, media and stock chemical solutions are available in the laboratories as required
  • Joint responsibility for the removal of laboratory waste, disposal of expired solutions or materials
  • Washing, drying and sterilisation of laboratory glassware and consumables
  • Assisting with the archiving of study slides

You will need the following skills to be successful in the role:
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately read, record, and communicate information
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills
