Working fully embedded within one of ICON's growing programs who work on innovative treatments to address the unmet needs of people living with diabetes, obesity, haemophilia, growth disorders and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). In this role you will perform administrative tasks for the proper support of clinical research studies. At study sites, you'll be workingwith site team to support studies, administratively, to be initiated, conducted and/or completed in accordance with study and site specifications, processes, and good clinical practice.

Service Requirements:

Pre-screening and screening phase:

  • Support the submission of the protocol and other documents to the ethics committee (EC) for approval and the development and maintenance of files and binders
  • Assist in administrative recruitment activities as phone contact, database review, contact with HCPs and other institutions for referrals among other tasks


During trial conduct:

  • Assist with scheduling patient visits
  • Transcription of source document data points into EDC including query response according to the timelines and which can be clearly accessed in source documents
  • Submission of applicable trial documents to the ethical and regulatory entities
  • Archive and maintenance of the regulatory folders and binders
  • On-site and off-site monitoring visit support, such as communication with CRAs for scheduling visits, providing access to site documentation and supplies to CRA reviews, accommodate meetings with site staff, etc.
  • Audit support, as needed
  • Manage meetings, as needed


At closure and follow-up:

  • Support scheduling of follow-up visits
  • Answering queries and completion of CRFs in order to achieve DBL in the expected timeline
  • Support the resolution of any open action items at the site
  • Support with study close-out visits


In addition, this service could support updating and maintaining information within sites systems according to system update timelines from different sites.

The services described above do not include activities to be performed by the principal investigator, sub- investigator or clinical nurses such as medical evaluations, maintaining medical charts and preparation of medication.

You will need:
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in clinical research
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Knowledge of GCP/ICH, working knowledge of ICON PLC and/or other applicable SOPs, policies, and Work Instructions, good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, read, write and speak English
  • Skilled in IT systems, platforms, creations of spreadsheets, tables and other applicable tools as needed, be able to work in consistently high quality, self- motivating, ethic and commitment, maintain a good relationship with site staff.
