The Role

Join our ICON Development and Commercialisation Legal team. This team (of ~20) is part of the wider ICON Legal team and supports Symphony Health, an ICON company.

Symphony Health provides powerful data, applications, analytics and consulting to help companies gain deep insights into the pharmaceutical market and patient health journey.

We are looking for a Paralegal, ideally with experience with contracts to join our global legal team with an interest in learning about data!

Responsibilities will include:
  • First line legal drafting, review and negotiation on a wide range & large volumes of commercial contracts with global clients (such as, confidentiality agreements, clinical study service agreements, ancillary service agreements). Drafting contract proposals for review by Symphony legal team
  • Work independently on non-revenue generating contracts such as confidentiality agreements, third-party agreements, reverse third-party agreements and data use agreements, etc. Paralegal will be expected to review basic agreements, provide guidance, escalate legal issues and negotiate as needed.
  • Identifying process inefficiencies, make recommendations for improvements and own/support process improvement projects; and
  • Proactively partnering with internal stakeholders (such as contracts department, finance, procurement, operations etc...) to ensure delivery for both internal and external clients.
  • Administrative projects and tasks.
  • Work cross functionally with privacy/DPO, finance, IT/Security, sales, regulatory, contract specialists and clinical teams as needed.


Experience & Knowledge Requirements:
  • A passion for learning and self-improvement. High degree of professionalism and integrity with the ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • A team player with the want to collaborate with colleagues
  • Willingness to help your teammates and provide excellent legal services to the business teams you support
  • Personal and professional maturity to develop and maintain strong relationships with key business clients
  • Intellectual curiosity and appetite for learning
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • It would be beneficial for candidates to have experience in data licensing, Privacy (date use and data security), intellectual property, commercial contracts/ negotiating.
