If 'yes' then we are recruiting for an Laboratory Aide in our post life department. This is a role suited to someone who has an interest in science but who may not have a scientific related education or background.

This role is to be based at our site in Eye, Suffolk. You will be working across our modern, purpose built laboratories where you will play a key role in the logistical and operational support of the Fetal Pathology and Sperm analysis department.

Following a comprehensive training and career development scheme, the responsibilities of this varied role will include:
  • Stock control and rotation.
  • Study set up procedures including precise labelling of pots, label/slide preparation and reagent preparation.
  • Preparation and archiving of study specimens
  • Adherence to Good Laboratory Practice regulations.
  • Undertaking cross-training initiatives within other areas across Safety Assessment.
  • The job will involve periods of lifting, pushing and pulling of equipment

  • You will have the ability to follow instruction and pay attention to detail and accuracy
  • You will be able to prioritise work in line with departmental needs and a flexible approach to work

Education:
  • GCSE education level
  • Ability to work as a team and learn new techniques
  • Ability to follow instruction and pay attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritise work in line with departmental needs and a flexible approach to work
  • Understand the role of others and liaise, collaborate and demonstrate effective communication
  • Is fully aware of Health and Safety requirements
