This includes maintaining and updating pricing information for Novartis' existing portfolio of products and to manage the approval of pricing of all new Novartis products in line with global policies and procedures. The role would work closely with local market access leads in developing pricing guidance for new products. It would input and support all local pricing output that was required by the Australian government such as price disclosure and WAMTC as required. The individual would work collaboratively and cross functionally within Novartis to develop and execute risk sharing agreements, price changes or other PBS related changes with the Department of Health. Manage and input into pricing related databases at Novartis and develop tools and processes to support the pricing planning process and support of reimbursement submissions in collaboration with market access leads. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Implement the CPO Pricing strategy and operational plan for a portfolio of brands or products. Develop assumptions of price for strategic plans and budgets. • Manage the development of pricing systems and analytical tools which ensure efficiency, product profitability and financial risk assessment, providing insights into understanding the impact of PBS reform and the strategic planning process • Support strategic planning in the assessment and potential pricing implications of new products/partnering candidates • Management of global pricing submissions whereby pricing request meets global floor price expectations. Lead or support Health Economics Managers with global pricing submissions with innovative price agreements and complex global pricing negotiations • Manage the assessment and implementation of industry price reviews and reforms (PBS reforms and statutory price reductions). • Proactively seek price increases by effective management of DUSC and Department reviews and brand price premiums. Proactively seek to design and develop internal pricing policies and procedures that ensure effective pricing management and compliance, and oversee their implementation • Support the price disclosure process in collaboration with Finance. Including development of the price disclosure process and provide appropriate support for price disclosure submissions • Effective management of internal price changes including PBS reform and wholesale price lists. Proactively seek competitor intelligence, track competitor/global pricing and provide analytical support to predict price changes Position Title: Pricing Manager Minimum requirements: What you'll bring to the role: • Degree in Health Economics, Public policy, Economics or other relevant discipline • 2-5 years in the pharmaceutical industry or other related industry - with at least 1-2 years' experience in reimbursement and pricing of medicines within the Australian pharmaceutical industry or relevant consulting firm • Proven ability to analyze complex issues and develop forecasting models • High degree of accuracy and organisational skills with attention to detail • Ability to project manage and stakeholder management Why Novartis? 766 million lives were touched by Novartis medicines in 2021, and while we're proud of this, we know there is so much more we could do to help improve and extend people's lives.
