THE POSITION


We are looking for an experienced, team-oriented, dynamic, and highly motivated IT Business Consultant to strengthen the IT EFP Financial Planning team.

As Business Consultant, you are actively shaping the future system landscape for our business partner in corporate finance, by working as the interface between business and IT, driving solutions from ideation to implementation. In this role you will be working in a challenging environment, changing and optimizing established complex business processes with the help of state-of-the-art IT solutions. You will be responsible for leading projects in an international environment with significant implications on business by introducing and further developing our global financial planning, consolidation and reporting platform. Furthermore, you will be the key contact for the Business from an end-to-end perspective.
Additionally, you scout and identify potential innovations in your area of expertise and implement them to create additional business value.


Tasks & responsibilities


  • As Business Consultant you will independently lead and manage complex projects on a global level from beginning to end, delivering the defined scope in time, budget and quality.
  • With a deep understanding of business processes, you act as key contact for our business partners in Finance, maintaining a close relationship and actively defining the IT system landscape and roadmap for Finance and driving IT related Business decisions.
  • You are responsible for demand management and project prioritization for the assigned Business area.
  • Moreover, you set up projects, including selecting software vendors and consulting partners, creating project plans and budgets and gaining required approvals from BI IT’s leadership teams.
  • By driving the alignment of process and technical roadmaps together with your Business Partner in accordance with the overall IT strategy you are creating value for BI.
  • Furthermore, you take care of the system life cycle management (design, planning, implementation and operation) providing an efficient support model for the respective complex IT solutions and Business Partners including management of external vendors and contracts.



Requirements


  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, (Business-)Informatics or comparable or Bachelor´s degree with several years of relevant working experience
  • Several years of professional experience in an interface role between business and IT (e. g. as Business Consultant), ideally within the Finance domain focusing on enterprise performance management (financial planning, consolidation, reporting)
  • Multiple years of experience as a project and program manager and ability to deal with complex interdependent project tasks in a global fast-moving and agile project environment
  • Several years of experience as either an advanced user or consultant working with either SAP BPC, SAP BW, SAP BW/4HANA and/or SAP (SEM-)BCS
  • Confident in negotiations, assertive and determined in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Team player with background in working in an international and intercultural environment as well as a distinctive solution-oriented approach
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English required (verbal and written)
