The role:
Due to an increase in Integration needs ICON plc are looking for a Senior Director to drive design and architectural decisions as prioritised by the integration program. You will be using your technical expertise to cover full stack design, development, and automation capabilities across Corporate, Labs & Clinical Operations. The role will require stakeholder management and a customer-first attitude.

The role:

Responsibilities include:
- Develop and manage the team, enabling scale within the organization and strategically hiring and growing the team to match and position the team to ICON’s current and future needs.
- As a people leader, be aligned with the line management activities required through the yearly and half-yearly cadence of performance reviews.
- Evolving a scalable, extensible, reliable, and inter-operable on-line infrastructure, optimizing hardware and software configurations/developments and enabling rapid deployment of new product capabilities through continuous improvement adding efficiencies and capacity to the group. Continuous Integration and ultimately Continuous Deployment are key elements of this strategic goal for ICON.
- Delivering enterprise quality products and maturity while aggressively evolving next generation on-line, video and software capabilities. This extends to critical analysis of technologies and fitness for purpose and providing input into the overall ICON strategy in product and technology selection.
- Planning and driving the roadmap for delivery of new products and capabilities based on strategy, vision, and priorities set by the appropriate business and steering teams. The role also provides input into Automation, Virtual Trial, and other technology-enabled strategies for ICON.
- Develop and lead a multi-location development unit with resources based globally including internal and external resources, mentor and lead architecture, validation, testing and engineering resources in the design, test, validation and implementation of sophisticated and efficient products/capabilities.
- Develop and execute software engineering plans and manage software engineering schedules and resource allocation and budget. This includes joint development with 3rd party vendors and managing outsourced development when required.
- Ability to travel (approximately 30-40%) domestic and/or international.
Skill and experience:
- Proven strong people management skills and excellent people and customer skills.
- Proven track record in managing a team of direct (in-house) and indirect (outsourced) reports to deliver excellent service levels on-site.
- Strong knowledge and experience of design and architectural integration across full stack design, development, and automation
