Job Details

CSL is hiring a Medical Operations Lead to join our Commercial team, based in Melbourne's CBD. In this newly created position, you will provide leadership, organisation and implementation of the strategies required for our external scientific/events organisation. You will provide operational leadership in the execution of Medical Affairs programs, and broader business projects, processes, and systems.

You will ensure accurate tracking of project performance for existing and newly created contracts and budgets and will apply project management best practices in the initiation, execution, maintenance, and closing of projects. You will promote the development, review and update to processes and embedding of these along with relevant systems.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Medical Affairs, your main responsibilities include:

  • Guide implementation of strategic operations and planning to ensure optimization of processes for realisation of Business Unit tactics
  • Lead the assessment and partnership of providers working with and through the procurement team
  • Ensure 'end to end' management of scientific congress administration requirements according to Medicines Australia and Business Unit requirements. Notably code of conduct course coordinator responsibilities, code of conduct updates and transparency reporting.
  • Improve operational efficiencies through embedding processes and systems and implementation of ongoing process improvements across the business.
  • Lead and promote systems including; Matar, Cybergrants, Medical dashboards inclusive of superuser responsibilities and support for individuals/teams
  • Organise and manage domestic and international travel arrangements for third-party KOL travel as directed including approval of travel within the approval software
  • Preparation of third-party/contractor contracts for execution and the upload/maintenance of these contracts once completed in the Contract Management System


Your skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
  • Three years' experience in pharmaceutical or health related industry. Background in Medical Affairs regarded
  • Previous experience with SAP (ideal)
  • Previous experience developing and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs) and other process documentation (ideal)
  • Events management (ideal)
