THE POSITION

IT Travel & Expense Management is Boehringer Ingelheim’s global area in charge of bringing cutting edge and state-of-the-art technologies to our business partners in the travel expense management and accounts payable business functions.
With a strong set of systems, we support BI in achieving excellence in accounts payable and in travel expense management, which, among others, main goal is to meet the needs of our end users in a rapidly changing environment.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • You will be primarily responsible to provide the best IT solutions to the IT business in the area of Accounts Payable where you also lead technology feasibility assessments.
  • You will also be engaging with business partners in the consultation, analysis, prioritization, and governance of demands for IT services.
  • Utilizing your knowledge of applications and systems, you serve as subject matter expert in order to manage and ensure all system documentation is available following BI standards.
  • Thanks to your business process knowledge in Source to Pay, you manage to find creative and efficient solutions to complex business issues and demands.
  • Moreover, you keep a close eye on the market for best practices and stay in contact with our external strategic partners (e.g., SAP) to ensure BI is up to speed on necessary process/system improvements and innovation potential.
  • Furthermore, you lead and manage medium to high complex IT projects from beginning to end, including the definition of project scope and deliverables that support business goals and strategies.
  • This includes leading and managing the global project team with members from IT and the business.


Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
  • Several years’ experience in IT in the area of Accounts Payable and SAP FI CO, ideally with experience in IT driven automatic invoice processing
  • Excellent understanding of system design and implementation methodologies, understanding of development technologies such as S/4 Hana, ABAP, Process Orchestrator and WebIDE is an asset
  • Proven track record in executing large and complex projects and experience with a standard project implementation life cycle (waterfall and agile)
  • Experience in business partnering, solution design and vendor management
  • Experience in agile managing of business demands and demand priorities and specific work packages as subject matter expert in some IT projects is vital
  • Committed team player with strong interest in new technologies, as well as solution oriented working behavior is key for this role
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in English are required (verbal and written)
