Cheminformatics / Bioinformatics Research Scientist - Cambridge

We are looking for someone to work with a developing biotechnology company that is committed to providing clients with cutting-edge software options for drug discovery. The company's main offering is a substantial collection of software tools that work together to govern molecular optimization, architecture, and data analysis, improving the effectiveness, productivity, and forward motion of the drug development process. The employer is seeking a candidate with a track record of presenting excellent conference presentations or writing for publications in peer-reviewed journals. They need someone with these abilities to translate peer-reviewed research into marketable products. To develop and validate techniques for SAR analysis and modelling of peptides and other biological macromolecules for drug development, they must collaborate with the research team.

Background

  • PhD or finishing a PhD in machine learning, cheminformatics, bioinformatics, computation chemistry/biology, or similar.
  • Experience with predictive modelling or modelling of peptides and other biological macromolecules.
  • Knowledgeable of drug discovery and systems used in this process.
  • Peer-reviewed papers and/or conference presentations with a strong track record.
  • Knowledge of SAR analysis is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create top-notch products that address the challenges our users have when looking for new therapies by collaborating with our software engineers.
  • Produce top-notch proof-of-concept prototypes.
  • Participate in discussions with scientists who work for current and potential clients.
  • Assist our sales and marketing staff in clearly and accurately communicating the science behind the product.
  • Present your work clearly and engagingly in conferences and webinars.
  • To show the quality and rigour of our scientific research, publish peer-reviewed works of the highest calibre.
