Job responsibilities
• Responsible for on-time delivery of assigned deliverables.
• Informs project leader of deliverables’ status and significant project or program issues.
• Maintains complete and up-to-date documentation, testing, and verification/quality control documents and deliverables meet inspection readiness.
• Follows applicable SOPs, WIs, and relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g. ICH).
• Accountable to quality standards and project requirements; working with team members to apply quality practices as needed.
• Works to build working knowledge of clinical drug development, industry standards, and electronic submission requirements.
• Under direction of a senior data engineer, follows processes and uses appropriate tools to acquire, process, clean, integrate, investigate, report and/or store clinical and related data. Types of tools may include ALSC, DMW, LSH, ETL tools, R, Python, JReview, Spotfire, PL/SQL,SAS.
• May perform data validity through conformance checks and reconciling clinical study data from various sources. Identify and communicate data issues.
• As appropriate for the role, may contribute to building predictive models and machine learning algorithms; applying data engineering techniques such as Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, Data Integration, Artificial Intelligence, or Data Visualization.
• Participates in internal meetings. Follows action items through to completion.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
• Minimal travel may be required.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
• Undergraduate Degree (preferred), preferably in a computer science, information technology or related discipline.
• Relevant work experience may be substituted for a college degree.
• Experience as a Data Engineer, Data Warehouse Programmer or Clinical Data Programmer (preferred).
• Familiarity with Data Visualization tools (preferred).
• Familiarity with Big Data concepts and technologies (preferred).
• Effective technical, problem-solving and math skills.
• Excellent communication (both written and spoken), teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet objectives and goals.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
