Novartis Oncology currently have an opportunity for a National Sales Manager to join the breast cancer team. This is a rare opportunity for a leader who is motivated by delivering exceptional impact for patients all while inspiring and supporting their team to be the best they can be.

You will join a team energized to bring life-improving solutions to Australian patients and HCP’s; the Breast Cancer team is on the forefront of transforming how patients access our medicines, made up of big-picture visionaries with a passion for innovation. The National Sales Manager reports to the Therapeutic Area Head solid tumours and will lead a team of 5 Product Specialist.

This position is designed to operate within an Agile framework, which will require responsiveness and the ability to perform in a dynamic environment. A self-starter with an open mindset, transparent way of working and the ability to inspect and adapt what and how we do our work is essential.

Your Responsibilities:

• Responsible for driving the sales operations plan and for achieving agreed sales and broader performance targets for Breast specialty area.
• Brings specialist knowledge in the required therapeutic area.
• Creates and executes business plans to drive this achievement, and is responsible for brands’ strategic and tactical planning in line with company strategy and standards.
• Manages and optimizes effective allocation of resources to deliver required business results. Manages area sales and expense budgets.
• Serves as a communication bridge from Senior Management to Sales Specialists.
• Lead a high-performing team of Product Specialists; hires, trains and develops them as necessary; provides coaching and feedback to the team.
• Influence key account strategy in tandem with appropriate cross functional partners
• Master product knowledge and disease area knowledge; and coach the team on the same. Gathers and is updated on required information regarding the market, key competitors’ market data, pricing intelligence, key accounts etc.

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Proven success in sales in Healthcare / Pharma / related business
• Previous experience with oncology is highly desired
• Knowledge and experience in an Agile way of thinking and working is preferable
• Able to understand changing dynamics of Pharmaceutical industry
• Market Knowledge and Network is desirable
