Description
The Research Nurse is responsible for ensuring the safety of volunteers jointly with the team of physicians. The Research Nurse applies techniques related to the position according to established standards and expected study-related results.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
* Provide front-line medical support to volunteers. * Document and verify follow-up of adverse events on study, including following-up by phone. * Administer appropriate treatment as necessary. * Share acquired knowledge when preparing special projects. * Carry out full spectrum of technical tasks related to the field of expertise: o Perform catheter insertion and venipuncture. o Take vital signs and ECGs and collect urine samples as per guidelines. o Perform intradermal, sub-cutaneous, intramuscular and intravenous injections. o Prepare and administer medication. o May be called upon to install nasogastric tubes or to perform any other specific study-related task. * Participate in or lead the reading of informed consent forms, explain study specifics and answer volunteer questions. * Collaborate with physicians to advise and inform subjects on matters regarding medical study-related questions. * Actively participate in improving the work environment by identifying problems and suggesting tangible actions or corrective measures. * Perform or participate in tasks related to internal procedures such as employee vaccinations and blood donations. * Communicate relevant information to the physicians in order to ensure the overall safety of subjects. * May be assigned other clinical tasks.
Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
* Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
