Manager Clinical Systems

We are open to candidates based in Wales, UK or South Africa. On either a remote or office based permanent contract

The Role:

The Manager of Clinical Systems Development will work closely with ICON’s Biometrics team including Data Operations, Portfolio Management, Clinical Development and Clinical Operations colleagues to oversee the design, creation and maintenance of Electronic Data Capture systems (Rave and/or Datalabs).

In addition, this role will be responsible for budgeting within their team, the quality and timeliness of deliverables, and managing a team within a data-driven environment.

Key responsibilities:
  • Managing multiple functions within the Clinical Systems Development department
  • Serving as the primary point of contact in the database and eCRF build lifecycle.
  • Attending and leading cross-functional and departmental meetings.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to a team of Clinical System Designers and Clinical System Developers.
  • Finding solutions to complex clinical systems development problems.
  • Planning and implementing various initiatives for the department.
  • Liaising cross functionally with internal counterparts to develop standard eCRF and edit check specification.
  • Leading the development of URL management and clinical programming SOPs and the development/optimization of clinical process from study start up to database lock.
  • Managing multiple priorities and effectively communicating technical issues to all employees.
  • Resource management and allocation.
  • Supporting the Clinical Systems Development and Biometrics leadership teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Mathematics, or Life Sciences related field with extensive experience of working with data systems in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry (required)
  • Substantial experience working in CDMS, EDC Systems - Medidata Rave or Datalabs (required)
  • Previous people management experience (preferred)
