The Role:

Our largest UK site in Harrogate, is currently recruiting for a QC Scientist Manager to join the Bioassay CMC team.

Within the Harrogate BioPharmCMC business unit; the Bioassay department provides dedicated release and stability testing of Large Molecule pharmaceutical products from preclinical through to the commercial phase. In addition, the department also provides method development, transfer and phase appropriate validation of analytical methods. We structure ourselves to deliver scientific expertise to our clients; collaborating closely with them to support the development of medicinal products through the drug development process and onto market.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the QC Section Manager in the efficient operational management of the QC Scientists.
  • Collaboration with the QC Section Management team to ensure the group meets Company objectives.
  • Providing appropriate support to ensure the delivery of work meets the relevant regulatory GMP standards; ensuring quality focus, on time delivery and a continuous improvement environment.
  • The QC Scientist Manager will interact with the QC Section Management team to represent the operational section needs of BioPharmCMC.
  • Representing LabCorp with Internal and External Clients to support new business or continued relationship management.
  • Supporting the department in Client and Regulatory inspections.
  • Supporting the QC Section Manager to meet dynamic business needs such as managing resource (people, facilities, equipment), and assisting in the development and advancement of scientific knowledge within Operations to maintain up to date capabilities.
  • Training, mentoring and coaching of laboratory analysts and other team members.

Education/Experience:
  • Required: Scientific degree (BSc / MSc / PhD or equivalent).
  • Required: Able to communicate effectively at all levels with internal employees and external clients, with theability to get things done by influencing others.
  • Required: Commercial awareness, interpersonal and negotiating skills and able to learn and maintain knowledge of process excellence processes.
  • Required: Experience within industry, with study management and client management.
  • Required: An in-depth understanding of health and safety policies and a good understanding of GMP regulatory guidelines.
  • Preferred: Previous management or supervisory experience.
