The Research Manager, RWE is responsible for day-to-day scientific oversight of a variety of global/regional prospective and retrospective multi-site observational studies including but not limited to time and motion studies, registries, chart review studies, electronic medical record and claims database analyses, and patient/HCP surveys. Other responsibilities will include supporting study feasibility and design, providing methodologic expertise internally and to sponsors, providing business development support for Real World and Late Phase (RWLP), and raising awareness of RWE.

Responsibilities for this role are as follows:
  • Provides day-to-day scientific oversight of real-world research projects, responsible for meeting or exceeding customer expectations for timelines, budgets, quality, and overall satisfaction. Focus will be on study document development (e.g., protocol, CRF, interview guide, study-specific questionnaire, Data Management Plan, Statistical Analysis plan), review of statistical output, and medical writing (interim and final study reports, and dissemination).
  • Serves as an expert and scientific resource to staff and senior management as necessary, within one or more scientific areas and maintains such expertise.
  • Maintains a familiarity with clinical and epidemiological practice guidelines, clinical research models, protocol designs, and real-world research development trends.
  • Responsible for contributing to the continued building of organizational capacity, improvement of scientific and operational processes and methodologies for non-traditional site management tasks (i.e., remote or central monitoring approaches, minimized regulatory document collection, etc.), integrated RWE technology solutions, and RWE Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) development and maintenance.
  • Works hand-in-hand with RWE management, business development, and operations personnel to develop and win global business opportunities; helps to lead the development and delivery of project proposals, bid defenses, and supports capabilities presentations.
  • Develops abstracts, posters and podium presentations, contributes to articles, manuscripts, etc. in industry and peer-reviewed journals to promote Company services.
  • Develops and recommends techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain state-of-the-art practices.
  • Minimal travel required (up to 10%).
The ideal candidate will need the following experience / skills to be considered:
  • Advanced degree (Master's) in epidemiology, economics, public health or other health related fields or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience (Masters 4+ years; Preferred Doctorate with 2+years);
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), email, and voicemail.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical programming preferred.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Demonstrated leadership and technical skills.
  • Above average attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, interpersonal, and team-oriented skills.
  • Consulting mindset and ability to "think out-of-the-box".
  • Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
