Business Development Director – DACH Region

The role is for a Business Development Director in the DACH region, for a growing CRO. This truly is a great opportunity to work with a supportive team, really make a difference to this company and be recognised and rewarded for your contributions.

Our client is a full service CRO who are rapidly growing and evolving. They work across Europe and the US working with Pharma, Biotech and Medical Device companies. They are very focussed on developing each employee individually. This truly is a very exciting time to join this company!

Coming from a CRO background, you will be people focussed, able to understand client’s needs and find solutions. Being driven to help grow the business and raise the company’s brand, you’ll also need to be hunter.

You will have an open territory within the DACH region with a list of assigned accounts. You’ll also have assigned accounts in the US in order to sell the company’s EU capabilities.

You’ll be responsible for the business development strategy and client retention in an allocated sales territory or with specified accounts. You’ll also be responsible for the coordination of all activities delegated to business development staff.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Account Strategist Initiate, coordinate, develop and implement strategic plans, sales strategies and annual forecasts within a specified territory or accounts.
  • Sales Leadership
  • Achieves and maintains positive and effective client relationships.
  • Creates business opportunities through industry relationships and networks;
  • Proposal Leadership
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other departments in the analysis and development of proposals.
  • Marketing activities
  • Represents the company at industry conferences and therapeutic meetings, as requested
  • BD Reporting activities
  • Familiar with Territory Planning, account plans and reporting tool.
  • Track, manage and report sales activities

Experience and knowledge

  • University/college degree
  • Excellent knowledge of the CRO business
  • Computer competency and familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical research and/or sales experience Considerable sales experience with strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Awareness of trends and government policies and regulations in the clinical trials area of the company’s group countries
  • Fluent in local office language and in English, both written and verbal
  • Travel according to the needs of the business development strategy and to travel extensively within the sales territory and to company meetings as required (50%-70% domestic and international)
