Upstream Process Scientist - Scientist/Senior/Principal

Hobson Prior are seeking for an Upstream Process Scientist - Scientist/Senior/Principal to join a fantastic biotech establishment on a permanent basis located in Bedford. Our client is focused on developing gene therapy treatments to improve the lives of many suffering from various illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:

• For this position, you will guarantee efficient, high-quality, and suitable documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks in a timely manner.
• Self-sufficiently design and implement experiments linked to the development, scale-up, and characterisation of cell culture procedures.
• Implement engineering principles to optimise scale-up procedures.
• Efficiently uphold good communication and cooperate with cross-functional associates for successful implementation/accomplishment of project.
• You will supervise or guide junior personnel in their day-to-day actions.
• Recognise, review and execute new technologies for continuing platform improvement.
• Conduct data analysis on the conducted and linked actions and plan technical documents, SOPs, and presentations both internally and externally.
• Any other assigned duties.

Requirements:

• Educated to an advanced degree level in a chemical engineering biochemical engineering, biochemistry or similar discipline with 0-10 years of experience in a pertinent organisation or educated to a degree level with at least 6 - 14+ years of pertinent experience.
• Capable of guiding a scientific project and handle, analyse and comprehend multifaceted experimental data.
• Know-how of cell culture, aseptic technique, and bioreactor operations, for example: high-throughput, bench-top, and pilot.
• Familiarity with viral vector production, statistical software, technology transfer to CDMO/manufacturing facility, and process characterisation experience.
