The Role:
At ICON, we have some opportunities for Laboratory Support Operatives/ Sample Receipt Administrators to join our team in our Leopardstown, Dublin 18 location.
The Clinical Sample Processing team play a crucial part in ICON’s Laboratory. This is a fast paced environment where eye for detail is critical.
You will play a key role in collaborating with our Laboratory.
The role does not require previous Pharmaceutical experience. Ideally you will have previous experience in Logistics, Warehouse, Administration, Retail Management etc and be well organised and PC literate. We are open to candidates that are moving from non related industries such as retail, security, child care etc. Full training will be given.
The roles are permanent and part time (20 to 25 hours), typically Tuesday to Saturday. (A full time working week is 37.5 hours to salary etc is pro rata of this).

Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for data entry of patient's demographics into the computer system. Documents and researches any problems with received specimens.
- Adheres to OSHA and the Company's Health and Safety regulations and security procedures at all times. Understands the principles of accreditation and QA procedures
- Store in samples based on protocol specifications, as well as accountability for storage samples
- Qualitychecking ofaccessionforms,scanningofpaperworkinto database. Archivingvisit documentation
- Bar code labelling and validation of specimens and transport of specimens to the technicians in the laboratory to be analyzed
- Accepts and documents sample deliveries from couriers. Unpacks packages, receives shipments into database
- Facilitate removal and collection of all hazardous waste from laboratory
- Escalating any problems to senior members of the team
- Additional responsibilities as requested by management of Sample Management
What you will need:
- A strong team player
- A great eye for detail and a high level of focus on quality
- Experienced in, and thrives working in a fast paced environment
- Good general PC skills
