Based in the coastal seaport of Sligo, North of Ireland

Our client, a global leader medical technology manufacturer in front-end design, development and manufacturing solutions for highly regulated industries - pharma, diagnostics, med tech, consumer, automotive and defence are seeking an accomplished Engineer, primarily in Injection Moulding Processing to play a key role in ensuring that productivity within the manufacturing area is maximised and NPI's are completed as per schedule with a focus on Quality and robust process development at all times. The successful candidate will also be required to support processes outside of the Injection Moulding area, in pad printing, ultrasonic welding, and other assembly processes.

Responsibilities include:
* Always demonstrate a strong commitment to Safety by proactively leading by example in highlighting areas for improvement and assist with closing out actions identified. In addition, conduct EH&S assessments and Incident Investigations.
* Participate in tool design reviews for NPI's and communicate recommendations concisely. Conduct FOT/FAT whilst liaising with tooling vendors.
* Timely completion of process qualification PC/DOE, IQ/OQ/PQ and Injection Moulding process troubleshooting with accurate reporting to and engagement with key stakeholders such as Project Managers, Tooling Manager etc
* Perform DOE analysis using Minitab and present results and recommendations on process and tooling adjustments to Project Managers, Tooling Manager.
* Review and signoff of documentation, e.g. pFMEA's, control plans, validation protocols and reports.
* Proactively root cause and problem solve issues arising during validation and production for Injection Moulding Machines and Secondary Ops equipment.
* Work with internal stakeholders and OEM's to procure and introduce new equipment to support business need. Activities include specification requirements, URS, FAT, SAT, and all applicable EH&S and Quality system considerations.
* Work as part of a cross functional team to support the production schedule & drive process improvements.
* Take direct & daily ownership of assigned process setup areas, highlighting any challenges, and liaising with Engineering & Tooling groups to drive continuous improvement.

Skills and experience required:
* Qualification in Equipment Processing / Polymer Engineering / Science or related discipline.
* Experience in the application of critical thinking when problem solving.
* In-depth knowledge of Injection Moulding equipment, tooling and automation.
* Experience in robust process development.
* Knowledge of quality standards and expectations within the medical device industry.
* Excellent attention to detail in oral & written communication.
* Experience in SOP generation and training.
