Our client, a global leader medical technology manufacturer in front-end design, development and manufacturing solutions for highly regulated industries - pharma, diagnostics, med tech, consumer, automotive and defence are seeking an accomplished Manufacturing Engineer, with a preference for Medical Device experience/exposure. As a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, the successful candidate will gain exposure and contribute to all areas of the business through supporting the Quality, Operations, EHS & NPI departments, with a focus on driving Continuous Improvement within existing systems & processes and supporting the integration of such improvements into the manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities include:
* Provide support to the Manufacturing organisation to facilitate efficient operations within the production areas, to improve existing processes, and to ensure that production goals are met with a specific emphasis on manufacturing efficiencies.
* Process ownership of defined areas - owns and drives process and equipment improvements and drives strategic and cost projects.
* Collaborate with Quality to address quality issues and with NPI to support the integration of new products or processes into the existing manufacturing areas.
* Drive innovation and cost effectiveness of systems and processes through strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to provide operationally effective robust solutions and improvements.
* Responsible for driving continuous improvement and process optimisation throughout all manufacturing areas including instigating changes to improve work environment and systems and continuously seeking ways to be cost effective.
* Advocate for and influence improvements whilst passionately driving process excellence and continually striving for 'Breakthrough Improvement' in all projects and provide leadership for associated projects.
* Support the progress of validation projects as required, thus ensuring that there is continuous drive/focus on meeting schedules.
* Influence senior management decisions to implement optimum solutions.

Skills and experience required:
* 3rd level Engineering Degree (Process, Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics preferred).
* Good understanding and experience of current manufacturing technologies and methodologies used in general assembly manufacturing.
* Must possess a sound knowledge and understanding of the mechanical functionality of equipment, as well as electro-pneumatic principles.
* Strong organisational skills, ability to define, delineate roles and responsibilities effectively; plan well, flexible, and able to facilitate change, improve safety, quality and productivity as projects progress.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in the MedTech or Pharma industry.
* Knowledge of Lean Principles and execution of same.
* Experience of the introduction of new plant/cost reduction initiatives within manufacturing environments.
* Experience of problem-solving techniques.
* Project management experience.
* Experience in designing Jigs, Fixtures, Tooling (SolidWorks/Solid Edge).
* Knowledge of ISO9001 / ISO 13485 will be an advantage.
