Production Biochemist

On behalf of my client, Thornshaw Scientific are recruiting for a Production Biochemist to join the team.

Reporting to the Head of Production you will support the implementation of the Master Production Schedule by manufacture and testing of a wide product range.

Essential responsibilities:

• Ensure daily production and in process testing is carried out in an accurate and efficient manner in accordance with Good documentation Practice (GDP) and Good Manufacturing (GMP) as scheduled by the head of production & filling. Take a leading role within the production team in the manufacture and in-process testing of all products within the product line. Positively influence and assist other team members within the production team in manufacturing product to the highest standard. Demonstrate a proactive approach towards identifying and resolving issues which may impact the production schedule/quality of product and highlight any issues which might lead to failure in quality.

Qualifications and Experience:

• An advanced life science degree
• Minimum 2 years’ experience medical diagnostic/pharmaceutical experience.
• Manufacturing and / or QC laboratory experience in biological sciences.
• Demonstrated competence in biochemical techniques, statistical concepts, problem solving and root cause analysis. 
• Understanding of cGMP/GLP requirements and previous regulatory audit experience.
• Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel and Minitab.
• A high level of care and attention to all aspects of the role and show a desire to achieve excellence through own initiative.
