We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Maintenance Technician to join the Engineering team. As a Maintenance Technician you will be undertaking planned and reactive maintenance, as well as undertaking calibration activities and contractor support within an exceptionally clean and regulated environment.

 

The Engineering team are responsible for all aspects of Plant, Mechanical, Electrical and Incoming utilities from point of connection into any of our facilities. This includes laboratories, manufacturing suites and office space.

 

Your responsibilities in this role would be:

  • To ensure ongoing and compliant operation of all manufacturing, laboratory and office facilities.
  • Perform planned preventive maintenance & reactive maintenance activities as requested.
  • Follow documented procedures to undertake routine calibration tasks.
  • Induct and supervise related OXB contractors ensuring they adhere to all OXB sites local rules.
  • Seek improvements to our ways of working and implement improvement ideas
  • Ensure the smooth running of planned plant shutdowns for maintenance activities.
  • Work proactively with all other departments to facilitate engineering activities.
  • Maintain effective working relationships and communications with team members to ensure an effective and productive department.
  • Escalate engineering problems which may impact on business productivity to Lead Engineers ensuring they are proactively informed.

 

We are looking for:

Essential:

  • Time served apprenticeship & minimum Level 3 qualification in an Electrical or Electronic discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience similar role within a regulated environment.
  • Excellent fault finding, problem solving, report writing and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrable experience of suggesting and implementing continuous improvement activities.
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels.

 

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, incubators & autoclaves
  • Familiarity with Air Handling Units and medical grade fridges / freezers
  • Familiarity with Aseptic filling equipment and automated processes
  • Familiarity with calibration techniques and practices.
  • Previous experience liaising with and supervising contractors
  • Good working knowledge of site services, facilities/utilities
  • Good working knowledge of a variety of production equipment.
  • Previous experience working in a pharma production/laboratory environment.
