The Patient Innovation (PIC) Manager position is a unique role at Parexel. In this position, s/he/they will have the opportunity to innovate and improve the patient and caregiver clinical trial experiences and their outcomes. This role will support the further development and implementations of the Community Alliance Network, helping to expand our geographical reach to patients, The right candidate will support proposals and bid-defenses (possibly client facing) and will work closely with our Community Alliance Network Partners. To accomplish this, the PIC Manager will support colleagues with delivery of projects for the Patient Innovation Center. S/he/they will participate in activities to help secure new business, build and deploy new tools and services, ensure excellent performance against business and project goals, build strong internal and external relationships, and support marketing activities.


Business Generation

  • Participate in key strategic initiatives to support the improvement of offerings including the development of new processes and products
  • Assist with PIC marketing activities
  • Support the business with key insights and deliverables
  • Continually scan the landscape to ensure awareness of key PIC engagement developments

Patient Centricity
  • Support training of Solutions Consultants & other internal stakeholders, including making vendor recommendations, strategy slide decks, and proposal support
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with internal partners & communicate accordingly. Ensure cross-functional collaboration with Medical, Marketing, Sales, Compliance, Commercial and other key partners to manage relationships that ensure alignment & effective execution of PIC strategy
  • Engage internally with sales team to position Parexel as a key partner of choice for clients through thoughtful & informed involvement in pre-award activities
  • Support operationalizing PIC engagement strategies
  • Promote Parexel’s ‘Patients First’ philosophy
  • Use patient insights learned from patient representatives & serve as internal champion to incorporate patient perspectives into all appropriate initiatives

Product Service & Development
  • Support vendor partner identification & selection activities by scanning the landscape for potential new vendors, attending capabilities presentations & working with procurement
  • Generate ideas for new PIC tools & services by maintaining a keen interest in competitive intelligence, exploring other technological advancements and engaging patients

  • Passion for improving the patient and caregiver experience in clinical trials
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a full workload across multiple projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (including experience in making presentations at conferences, meetings, training sessions).
  • Solid presentation skills. Ability to summarize complex issues into key points, present the issues, status, and/or recommendations with clarity.
  • Patient and client-focused approach to work
  • Ability to apply good judgment and lead problem solving within the team
  • A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning
  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and attention to detail

  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant software: Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint

Knowledge and Experience:
  • Have a sound knowledge of patient centricity in a relevant clinical research role at sponsor/CRO e.g., site network experience, study start-up, project management, proposals/sales experience, patient recruitment
  • Good understanding of the health technology development and access processes
  • Ability to apply good judgment and lead problem solving within the team

  • Educated to degree level (biological science, pharma or other health related discipline preferred) or relevant clinical or business equivalent.
