Job Details

Byondis focuses on development of innovative medicines, including antibody-drug conjugates and immunotherapies, in two key therapeutic areas: oncology and autoimmune diseases. 

As a Scientist Biophysical Characterization, you are primarily responsible for the extended characterization of biopharmaceutical products using biophysical techniques, such as spectroscopy (e.g. CD, FT-IR, fluorescence), thermal analysis (e.g. DSC) and light scattering (e.g. DLS, MALLS), to support the development of our new biological entities (NBEs), mainly monoclonal antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).

Biophysical extended characterization, is amongst others, performed for higher order structure confirmation, impurity characterization and comparability testing. You are also responsible for adequate data analysis, clear and concise reporting and you are expected to (help) resolve technical issues. You will be part of the analytical department responsible for all testing and characterization of biopharmaceutical products within Byondis and report to the lead of the Extended Characterization group.

Your profile

Your letter of motivation and CV should show that you have:

  • A degree in analytical sciences, (bio)chemistry, etc. (M.Sc., Ph.D.);
  • Demonstrable and relevant experience in a comparable position and/or work environment;
  • Extensive experience with the development and execution of biophysical characterization methods for biopharmaceutical products;
  • Up-to-date knowledge on analytical approaches for protein characterization;
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbally and in writing;
  • Familiarity with the relevant guidances is a plus.
