The role

In this role you will support the Avance Clinical Business Development department with the business growth objectives of the organisation. Working with the Head of Business Development, Director BD Operations, the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Strategy Officer to ensure that there is an integrated business development process from lead generation to project award and contract execution.

Core Responsibilities include

•Assess business development opportunities and new client opportunities to drive business growth.

•Co-ordinate, manage, attend and follow-up meetings with potential clients and where applicable act in a lead Business Development role introducing Avance Clinical and our services to new clients.

•Co-ordinate internal Avance Clinical operational experts to enable provision of clinical trial advice and expertise to clients through practical, logical, experience-based feedback as needed.

•Co-ordinate with the Avance Clinical Operational Leads to ensure they also attend meetings with potential new clients where appropriate.

•Continually seek new events, conferences, forums that might be suitable for Avance Clinical to find prospective new clients, in line with departmental budgets and seek additional budget if the opportunity warrants.

•Upon receipt of Requests For Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs), liaise with the client and if needed arrange for a teleconference with the client to introduce Avance Clinical’s services and obtain any specifics about the project that will assist with the proposal costing and strategy.

•Take responsibility for providing comprehensive information to guide the Avance Clinical proposal team to enable them to develop the appropriate cost proposal utilising the company’s pricing and proposal tools.

•Plan, prepare for and lead proposal negotiations and/or bid defence meetings if required

•Drive and secure contract awards with the client.

•Manage Salesforce for the Business Development department. This will include:

•Collect metrics on website hit and search engine optimization.

•Coordinate preparation of marketing material.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

•Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the biotech / pharmaceutical / CRO / Clinical Trials industry in a business development or similar role.

•Degree educated with ideally a life science related degree.

•Experience in client meetings, lead generation, cost and proposal development, project award and contract management, and marketing activities.

•Ability to communicate effectively with clients, senior management, and other stakeholders.

•Excellent written communications skills including the ability to write SOPs and reports.

•Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities, analyse problems, formulate clear and effective solutions and coordinate tasks.

•Ability to work on multiple tasks under pressure in a fast-paced and multi-disciplinary team environment.

•Ability to take initiative in problem solving and in exercising judgment.

•Ability to travel both local & international.
