Head of Market Access/Government Affairs position, in pharma, to develop, lead & execute market access strategies & modelling to achieve reimbursement

WHAT YOU WILL LEAD AND GROW
  • This Head of Market Access/Government Affairs position develops, leads and executes market access strategies and modelling to achieve favourable pricing and reimbursement for new products, and new product indications ensuring alignment with local country objectives.
  • The position is responsible for patients’ access to current and future products in Australia and New Zealand. For this purpose, key relationships are fostered with decision makers and influencers in this process. These may include representatives of the Departments of Health in Australia and New Zealand, patient societies, scientific committee of therapeutic area societies, board of directors/department heads of hospitals, politicians (in House of Parliament).
  • The role secures optimal pricing (including approvals and reimbursement) and representation in treatment guidelines for marketed and new products and is responsible for anticipating and interacting with the policy making process, both on a national and hospital level.
  • You will develop and execute the market access strategic and tactical plan to gain optimal access for the brand and products.
  • You will be involved in new product launches, including development of launch readiness plans across channels and help develop channel marketing budget.
  • You will manage all steps of pricing and reimbursement planning, execution and negotiation.
  • You will anticipate and manage future dynamics impacting market access and reimbursement and coordinate with others to ensure alignment to global pricing objectives.
  • You will work on improving government affairs capabilities.
  • You will drive Market Access and integrate with Medical team.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Master’s degree strongly preferred in a science field relevant to the business area, eg. science, epidemiology, public health, health economics.
  • Minimum 5 years of biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience in a market access/ government affairs and/or reimbursement‑related role.
  • Strong influence/persuasion/negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commercial attitude and business acumen.
  • In depth knowledge of the national healthcare system and public administration.
