Job Details

We have an exciting opportunity available as an Assay Development Leader at an innovative Immuno-oncology biotechnology company based in Belgium. This is a fantastic opportunity for a developing assay development scientist with experience developing blood assays for immune-oncology applications to join a growing biotech with interesting science with strong potential for continued career development.

 

Responsibilities

  • Shaping and leading the newly created Biomarker Assay Development sub-team of 1 – 2 research assistants
  • Leadership of the development of blood-based biomarker assays and other biological analyses allowing for the assessment of receptor occupancy, pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic activities for on-going clinical studies in close interaction with the Biomarker Strategy team
  • Supervision of the qualification/ validation and outsourcing of developed blood-based biomarker assays to external CROs for the application in clinical trials
  • Oversight of the preparation, implementation and follow-up of all biological analyses for on-going clinical studies, in close interaction with the Biomarker Implementation team
  • Writing and review of biomarker sections of clinical documents in close interaction with clinical teams, biomarker leads and external service providers
  • Participation in the development of Biomarker and Precision Medicine enabling strategies and biomarker assay selection for diverse clinical-stage projects
  • Liaison with Key Opinion Leaders, academic institutes and external consultants to foster scientific excellence
  • Contribution to the growth and further development of the Translational Medicine team

 

Requirements

  • PHD, MD/PHD in Cancer Immunotherapy, Immunology or Molecular Biology
  • Experience with analyzing human samples and/or monitoring analysis of biomarkers generated from clinical trials
  • Direct experience with the discovery and characterization of biomarkers using flow cytometry, proteomics, molecular biology and potentially immunohistochemistry techniques (not essential). Experience with single cell technologies ie scRNAseq, CyTOF) and/or multi-omics approaches (ie spatial omics, imaging mass cytometry) would be advantageous but not required
  • Experience with the qualification/validation, development and outsourcing of clinically applicable biomarker assays and analyzing corresponding data
  • Experience with implementing biological assays in clinical studies
