Bioinformatician - Remote or on-site

My client are an established agricultural Biotech who are a world leader within their space. They are seeking a Bioinformatician to join the team in running their trademarked gene-editing technology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the software, including designing QA tests
• Contribute to the development of the software to implement improvements
• Monitoring and troubleshooting
• Support others with interpreting the results from the use of the software
• Work alongside other Bioinformaticians for reviewing code and collaborate with biologists

Requirements

• MSc in Bioinformatics, Software development, or related discipline, with at least 2 years experience following this
• Experience in genomics
• Programming in Python with familiarity with other languages such as R, Perl, Bash
• Experience with workflow management systems such as Nextflow, Snakemake etc.
• Experience with cloud computing
• Experience with agile/scrum
• An engineering mindset- identifies problems and investigates anomalies, and suggests improvements
