THE POSITION


As Team Lead Medical Communications, you will support the Therapeutic Area Inflammation in regards to Medical Publications and Medical Information Management in a strategic, compliant and sustainable manner, reflecting the overarching Human Pharma Business Unit (HPBU) strategy.


Tasks & Responsibilities


  • In your role you lead a team of publication management and medical information specialists, and ensure that global publication plans pertaining to the Therapeutic Area Inflammation are developed and that timely, unbiased and accurate high quality publications of clinical trials data, NIS data and related other data, e.g. from HEOR are delivered.
  • You are responsible for creation and maintenance of high quality global scientific standard response content to support standardized local responses to medical information inquiries for the Therapeutic Area Inflammation.
  • In addition, you ensure the delivery of the publication related communication cascade including digital publication extenders, internal communication, newsletters.
  • As a Team Lead Medical Communications, you provide governance for the publication management and medical information content development related budgets.
  • Additionally, you measure the publication development and standard scientific response content effectiveness and impact.
    • Thanks to your leadership skills you lead your team by
    • Implementing operational changes and support stabilization after changes in operational processes
    • Giving guidance to Medical Communications team members and other affected stakeholders and provide expertise on new ways of working.
    • Identifying and deciding on synergies between functions, process improvement potentials and sharing leading practices.
  • Moreover, you align the service scope of providers and drive sourcing improvements and quality of external Vendors.



Requirements


  • Master’s Degree in Business, Health Sciences (e.g. Pharmacy, Medicine or Biology) or equivalent work experience required
  • Long term experience in Medical Information and/or Medical Publication Management and/or Medical Affairs in a (R)OPU and/or Corporate Environment
  • International exposure in daily business related to the capability and/or experience working in a global team Setup
  • Experience in change management, including communication, training and support, leadership engagement and change network management
  • Experience in leading teams in cross-functional and multi country organization
  • Ability to negotiate and influence across a matrix & cross-functional organization
  • Fluency in oral and written English; further language skills would be an asset Organisational
