(A candidate can work from home fulltime in the US, but will be required to attend meetings in eastern time zone)
The Associate Data Governance Analyst will support the Data Governance Analyst to collect, normalize, develop and implement enterprise-wide definitions and standards for data and information assets within Parexel. This role is responsible for identifying what is operationally and technically required for measurement and resolution of data governance related issues.
Key Accountabilities:
Critical Data Element (CDE) Support
- Enrich metadata within Alation Data Catalog (Data Catalog)
- Work with Domain Data Leads and Domain Data Stewards to upload and maintain CDEs, data definitions, standards and metadata in the data catalog
- Work with Corporate IT define data lineage in Alation
- Generate periodic dashboards and metrics around CDEs being added and modified and publish to relevant business stakeholders
- Support root-cause analysis for data quality issues
- Assist Domain Data Stewards in monitoring data quality trends and recommend appropriate data remediation plan
- Participate in workshops to define, capture and document business rules
- Work with Data Analysts and Technical Data Stewards to help maintain central repository of business rules for enterprise-wide consumption and usage
- Work with HR Business Partners and Training department to onboard Domain Data Steward roles
Qualifications
Skills:
- Effective understanding and appreciation of Data Governance and Data Quality related concepts
- Excellent problem-solving, written communication, collaboration, team leadership, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to troubleshoot, resolve issues, and collaborate on cross-domain issues
- Familiarity with the underlying source systems including Salesforce, Planisware, Oracle Financials, etc. is a plus
- Nice to have: IDQ, SQL and Python scripting skills
- Experience with data cataloging tool and disparate systems environments - working experience with the tool Alation, is highly preferred
- Strong verbal/written communication skills, with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority
- Adequate experience / exposure to Data Management and Enterprise Information Management
- Familiarity with Data Quality Management (DQM) and Data Quality Deviation management processes are a plus
- Previous experience in pharma and/or life sciences relating to the underlying domain is a plus
- Bachelor’s in computer science or a relevant field is preferable. 1 - 2 years relevant experience.
