On behalf of our client, a global diagnostics company, we are currently recruiting for a Continuous Product Improvement Scientist. The person will be working with Haematology team as initial focus.

Reports to

Head of CPI Projects/ Haematology Project Lead 

Purpose of job

To work in the Haematology Group/ Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) for Haematology and Coagulation diagnostic products or other product lines as required.

This position will be largely project based and will entail a high degree of autonomy and initiative. All duties performed in an FDA regulated Environment where knowledge and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures within the Quality System required.

 Essential responsibilities

  •  Conduct scientific studies. Analyze data and processes; develop, characterise and make formal recommendations. Plan and execute experiments using design of experiment techniques Reengineer existing processes or test methods to adapt to changes in market, business, and/or regulatory requirements.  Work within cross functional teams to identify key project/process or performance attributes and opportunities for product and process improvements.  Coordinate and lead technical root cause investigations. Cooperate with other functional areas and groups within the company to achieve robust product supply Participate in Product transfer activities within company Work constructively with team members from R&D, Marketing, Operations, Quality Assurance, Technical Support, Clinical Affairs, Customer Service, and Finance. Work constructively with team members from Stago on multi-site projects Coordinate and lead projects including product development and new product introductions Communicate progress on a frequent basis. Communication will require the successful candidate to present project updates to the relevant stakeholders. 

Qualifications

  • An advanced life science degree. Preferably in Haematology w Bsc Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Biomedical Science majoring in, Haematology and Immunology. PhD in Haematology would be advantageous.  Research or Industrial Experience in the field of Haematology and/or Immunology required.  Demonstrated competence in biochemical techniques and statistical concepts.   IVD industrial experience beneficial.

Ability to research a subject/process to a deep level of understanding and summarise into a coherent form for discussion and review Ability to prepare and deliver Power point presentations.   Must be skilled at generating and delivering presentations and gaining credibility within the organization Team player – ready, willing and able to take direction and receive constructive feedback  Will have a willingness and ability to collaborate with and influence other groups in a positive, team-based environment.  Self-motivation with strong work ethic and organizational skills and ability to prioritize, schedule and plan ahead
