Albion Rye Associates are working closely with an outstanding communications agency in the search for talented and ambitious Account Director.

The role:

  • Responsible for developing strategic programmes and finalising programme activity and budget with client
  • Direct account team activity to ensure appropriate tactical programme is developed and implemented according to quality standards and achieves objectives
  • Ensure staff ownership and responsibility for projects for all members of the team
  • Line management and mentoring of junior account team members
  • Maintain strategic overview of account, and proactively advise client on new issues/external environment and contribute to strategic planning meetings with client
  • Instigate brainstorms to develop the strategic, creative direction of accounts
  • In-depth understanding of financial status of accounts
  • Develop proposals for new business and attend pitches

Requirements:

  • Strong experience working within a medical communications, medical education, or a healthcare communications agency
  • Be a team player, but able to work with significant autonomy
  • You should have client-facing experience and be comfortable developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Have a track record of identifying organic growth and contributing scientific insight to proposals and pitches
  • Possess excellent understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, e.g. ABPI
  • Maintain a high profile within the agency for communications knowledge and expertise, and lead the client relationships on several accounts
