Parexel is hiring a Principal RWD Analytics Lead. This person will provide technical consultancy to both sponsors and internal project teams and play a major role in developing analytics solutions and securing business opportunities as well as coaching junior staff members and contributing to the study delivery that leverage the use of RWD. In this highly scientific role, a Principal RWD Analytics Lead is expected to keep abreast with the industry trend and innovations as well as demonstrate up to date knowledge in the area of RWD application, real-world evidence (RWE) generation, and late phase clinical research.

Key Accountabilities:

RWD-enabled Solution Development
  • Lead the RWD analytics solution development, including advising Sponsors and internal Parexel teams to identify a project's RWD requirements and meet the Sponsor's RWE generation needs
  • Provide consultancy to sponsors and Parexel project teams regarding RWD study design elements, analytics methods, and implementation considerations
  • Lead and/or contribute to study protocol and/or analysis plan sections which detail the use of scientific data for any given project

  • Business Development
  • Support Parexel business opportunities by providing input/considerations to Request for Proposals and Request for Information, attending capability presentation and bid defense, and consulting with Sponsors through early engagement

  • Mentorship & Training
  • Ability to convey understanding, value and considerations related to RWD to project teams, Sponsors and other audiences, whether expert or naïve
  • Mentoring of Scientific Data Solutions Architects, Project Leads, project teams, and junior staff members with regards to RWD study design and analysis
  • Lead or support the development and delivery of training courses and materials pertinent to RWD, RWE and late-phase clinical research

  • Billable Project Delivery
  • Interrogate databases and perform epidemiological, statistical or therapeutic/indication-specific analyses as required by assignment and billable project scope/responsibilities
  • Contribution to the development of RWD analytics solutions and operational delivery models

  • SDO Strategic Support
  • Maintaining a positive, results-oriented work environment while building partnerships through teamwork and communicating in an open, balanced and objective manner


  • Qualifications

    Skills:
  • Knowledge of the application of scientific data including RWD from an epidemiological, biostatistical or medical informatics perspective
  • Ability to apply epidemiology, biostatistical or medical informatics knowledge and principles in the design and analysis of RWD studies via statistically and scientifically sound methods and approaches
  • Ability to communicate ideas and approaches in an effective manner
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a results orientation
  • Project management knowledge
  • Working knowledge of the English language/proficiency in local language (where required)
  • Strong customer focus, internally and externally
  • Ability to support business development
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior members and study teams
  • Familiar with a broad range of RWD sources/health care databases, statistical approaches, and their uses

  • Education:
  • Formal qualification(s) in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Medical Informatics, Medicine, Public Health or equivalent
  • Advanced Degree required (Master's level or higher)
  • 7+ years clinical research experience utilizing scientific data sources including RWD
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory guidance
  • Experience in regulatory interaction (such as FDA, MHRA) is a plus
