We have partnered exclusively with a top 5 global pharma, who are looking for an Associate Director in Statistics to be based in the UK.

In this role you will provide lead support for the design, execution, analysis, interpretation, and reporting or communication of data evidence specialising in Immunology / IBD.  This opportunity is offered as a home based or hybrid role, with some occasional travel to office / conferences.

In this highly visible role, the Associate Director provides lead support for the design, execution, analysis, interpretation, and reporting or communication of data. This position takes a leadership role in the input for clinical development plans. Identifies and assists in the implementation of innovative statistical approaches. Represents cross-functional and intra-departmental teams and working groups.

Key responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates strong technical, analytical and interpersonal skills in project teams, internal forums and external meetings to establish and maintain methodologies constructively influencing decision making and clinical development strategy.
  • Has an established history of problem-solving and troubleshooting including significant regulatory and decision-making support at a program level.
  • Demonstrates sophisticated data analytic expertise based on a foundation of statistical principles and a strong record of applied experience leading to successful support of multiple programs. Is effective in the use of relevant computational tools for study, experiment, or trial research objectives. Applies sophisticated statistical methodology in assigned projects, such as clinical trials, with demonstrated coordinated disease/scientific/functional area understanding and health authority acceptability.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills providing support to experimental design, modelling, analysis planning and execution and statistical communication. You will need to work as point of contact for specific projects of programs and management around this. Demonstrate technical expertise with a track record for suggesting, evaluating and implementing successful alternative or innovative ways to statistical methods or business processes. Ability to supervises contractors/special assignment personnel/interns/co-ops as the need arises. Ability to lead cross-functional partnerships with internal colleagues and with external partners (e.g. Contract Research Organizations (CROs), consultants, researchers/investigators) to achieve results for project specific needs with focus on improving communication, efficiency, and productivity.

Qualifications

The Ideal candidate will meet the requirements below:

  • PhD. or MSc in Statistics (or related field) with minimum 6 years' relevant clinical trials experience (ideally late phase).
  • Proficient in SAS and/or R programming.
  • An active interest in working within the Immunology / Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) area. Serving as a role model to statisticians and scientists.
  • Sharing knowledge within and across functions
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
