RBW consulting is currently recruiting for a Research Manager (Statistician / Epidemiologist) on a permanent basis working remotely in the UK or hybrid model in the London region.

The successful candidate will join leading consultancy who specialise in real world evidence. They employ specialist techniques to enable capturing real-world data through patient-centered solutions including clinical registries, patient insight studies, biospecimen solutions and specialty electronic health record (EHR) data.

Due to continuing growth, I am seeking additional innovative minds to join my clients research team to provide statistical expertise to their mid-size, dynamic team.  

Overview

As the Research Manager, you will be integral to the design and use of novel and/or complex methodologies tailored to meet individual client needs. Our diverse client portfolio covering a range of disease and intervention topics, and along with our growing access to varying real-world data sources and analytic methodologies offers a rewarding work remit.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the design and implementation of research projects using routinely collected electronic healthcare records (i.e., Hospital Episode Statistics, Clinical Practice Research Datalink, the National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service, as well as specialty EHR sources) focusing on statistical methodologies and data visualizations Coordinate, lead and oversee the programming of analysis methodology into interfaces including R and SQL. Responsible for delivering detailed client-ready study protocols and statistical analysis plans ensuring statistical robustness of projects from start to finish. Lead and contribute to the scoping of research projects, including specifications, statistical analysis methods, machine learning methods, or other analytical techniques to translate client need into clear deliverables. Serving as a methodological expert to provide guidance to colleagues and client teams. Preparing and presenting key research insights and findings using written reports and visual representatives to colleagues and clients.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree (MSc or PhD) in Medical Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science or a related discipline Experience of health data analysis (4+ years) Experience of working in consultancy, contract research organization or healthcare services Knowledge of electronic health record datasets, particularly in the UK (e.g. HES, CPRD) Experience of using SQL, R, Python (or a related software) for data querying, processing, and analysis Experience of developing and testing algorithms and statistical models Knowledge and experience of using varying statistical analysis methodologies, including Frequentist and Bayesian statistics Experience of interpreting statistical analysis outputs for expert and lay audiences Experience of writing research protocols, statistical analysis plans and study reports Experience of liaising with clients to communicate data processing and analysis methodologies along with resulting outputs i.e. descriptive epidemiology or comparative statistics.
