About this job:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to plan and initiate innovative and transformative activity cross-functionally as digital transformation (DX) and to oversee the activities together with R&D Partner (RDP) Teams for Global Value Chain business functions including Research, Medical & Development, Pharmaceutical Technology, and others.

This position will be accountable for Information Systems (IS) initiated activities which innovate and transform Astellas business and will work with other RDP functions and IS groups to deliver solutions for DX to accelerate Astellas’ global business and to maximize the value of data and information across the organization.

 

Amongst the main responsibilities for this role are the following:

  • Relationship Establishment
  • Partner with Business Leaders and IS management to ensure alignment between business and IS strategy and goals including in collaboration with Relationship Management (RM) Team in RDP.
  • Formulate and manage a collaborative team with relevant business and IS functions to initiate cross-functional, innovative, and transformative activity as co-creation of value together with Programs & Projects (PP) Team in RDP.
  • Strategy
  • Examines the global Astellas strategy and forecasts the effects of the use of IT/Digital technology and systems to the business processes.
  • Prioritizes and identifies cross-functionally innovative and transformative IT/Digital initiatives for future Astellas business as strategic roadmap collaborating with DT Group
  • Portfolio and Program Management
  • Accountable for managing the roadmap and for support RM and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Teams to integrate the initiatives in the entire IT portfolios for Global Value Chain business functions.
  • Accountable for delivery of innovative and transformative solutions as digital transformation

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Significant experience in a similar role.
  • Ideally at least 5-7 years’ experience in an IT Department
  • extensive experience in a Pharmaceutical (R&D) environment
  • good experience in project management with extensive knowledge applying      project management or system development management methodologies
  • Experience of system development/implementation with Digital Technology.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements concerning GxP, JSOX, GAMP5 and ER/ES.

  • This position is based in Leiden The Netherlands.
