Job Title:         Pipeline Medical Science Liaison (Pipeline MSL)

Location:         Home based in Japan

Territory:        Multiple country responsibility (international travel)

JOB FUNCTION:

The Amplity Pipeline MSL, is a remote role focused on developing and maintaining peer-to-peer relationships with key medical experts. This role will primarily support the client’s rare disease programs in clinical development such as ALS and the complement dependent nephropathies. The Pipeline MSL Team will collaborate with physicians and other medical experts to support trial enrollment, provide program and protocol training and ensure that patients, physicians and key CROs have the most up to date information as the clinical development programs mature. They will also work to engage referral networks to ensure appropriate patient identification for trial sites.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with appropriate HCPs (academic and community research thought leaders) within a geography to answer scientific, unsolicited product, and study related questions.
  • The Pipeline MSL will use various channels for interactions (1:1, group presentations, remote, etc.) Support clinical development initiatives including site identification and educational support, trial recruitment, and presentation of final approved data
  • Develop an understanding of the regional landscape including specialties involved in care of patients. Understand the competitive landscape
  • and actively prepare to address informational needs of customers
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using available scientific resources and presentations. Effectively present information to HCPs and respond to questions, with up-to-date medical information, robust disease expertise, and product information ensuring medical accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to partner with HCPs on disease state initiatives, collaborative research projects, and investigator-initiated trials (IIT) of interest and in alignment with client’s strategic objectives as appropriate
  • Communicate expert opinions and feedback on new data to client’s Medical Affairs and program teams and across Pipeline MSL team globally
  • Attend congresses and local/regional meetings. Collect medical insights and/or impact communicating back to the organization to support strategy development Uses systems to strategically map, identify, profile, and prioritize thought leaders in line with the medical plan and goals
  • Maintain compliance with all internal and external legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Collaborate with internal cross functional stakeholders (e.g., Medical Affairs Medical Directors, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations)
  • Generate tactical regional plans to provide needs based, value-added support of the medical and scientific community in-line with company goals
  • Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of MSL activities

Education, Registration & Certification:

  • Advanced scientific or clinical degree

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in Medical Affairs or Clinical Research/Medical Science role Robust and current clinical development experience supporting drugs to treat rare diseases; prior hematology and nephrology experience required Candidates must have well-established networks and active relationships with KOLs in the rare disease community

  • Candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Energetically embraces responsibilities, demonstrates ability to achieve goals
  • Has strong initiative, and functions well as part of a cross-functional team
  • Exhibits excellent time management and is able to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in a start-up environment preferred
  • Must be pro-active team player, flexible, and open to change
  • Fluent written and spoken English (mandatory) and local language of one or more countries to be covered

Other:

  • Office is home based
  • Travel within region up to 75%.
  • Required travel to clinical sites to support study physicians and teams, medical meetings, team meetings, and other group meetings (will require some weekends)
