Job Details

This role has a global accountability for the delivery of the cloud hosting infrastructure (including AWS, Azure, and future cloud instances) for the CSL Group. The role is the primary liaison to the managed service partner for these services ensuring service level targets are delivered. This role drives the roadmaps and strategy for these service areas, develops service improvement plans, and interfaces with key stakeholders to understand new service demand.

Responsibilities:

Project Management / Solution Delivery

Participates and leads in Project Review Status meetings and Steering Committees as required to ensure project scope, cost, schedule and quality are in alignment. Additionally, provide leadership and oversight of other project roles when needed such as validation and design lead.

Daily Operations

Management and development of the cloud solutions, delivering continuous improvements for the organization, providing secure, reliable and scalable solutions working with the appropriate I&T partners.
  • Ensure that an inventory of company hardware and software assets and their corresponding contracts/agreements for the functional area is maintained and included in the overall global infrastructure inventory;
  • Review key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of I&T processes and improve daily operations;
  • Review and find improvements with the existing support models and partners to get the best out of the services we provide the business;
  • Ensure system and application data have complete and proven recovery mechanisms (backups/restore/archival);
  • Ensure systems have an appropriate level of resilience depending on its business use;
  • Ensure system performance and capacity is (at least) adequate for the business needs;
  • Ensure system complies with defined global standards, the group I&T security policy, I&T business continuity plan and quality management framework. Own system documentation;
  • Ensure services meet or exceed SLAs


QMS

Ensure that the infrastructure team (including non-employees) are trained and complying with the appropriate regulatory guidelines (e.g. cGMP), global I&T procedures, I&T standards, I&T practices and Computer Systems Validation methodology as defined by QMS (global I&T Quality Management System) and based upon the application business function. Ensure audit findings are closed within agreed timelines.

Strategy

Lead or co-lead the development of the service delivery strategic roadmap and be accountable for the implementation.

The infrastructure roadmap will incorporate and consider Business input regarding functionality and strategy, technology standards and policies, vendor/software/hardware life-cycles, maintenance and upgrade strategies, sourcing (internal, out-sourcing, hosting etc.) and Disaster Recovery strategy (business continuity)

People Management

Directs 1 or more team members supporting cloud services.

Financial Management

Participate, as assigned, in the management of specific cost centers, in the annual budgeting process (Opex and Capex), periodic forecasting activities, on-going expense management (ensuring compliance with delegation of authority limits), project cost tracking and capital recovery process. Develop capital expenditure proposals and cost I&T projects as required

Vendor Management

Responsible, in conjunction with Global Sourcing when applicable) for managing the vendor relationship including; selection, negotiation, establishing service levels (SLAs), monitoring and reviewing performance and contract management

• Establishing of good relationship with global vendors like Microsoft, Amazon, etc....

• Support global sourcing in case of contract negotiation for CSL wide contracts.

Technical Knowledge

Maintain a working knowledge of current technologies and best practices related to the Infrastructure area. Provide technical leadership, propose and assess design solutions, evaluate vendor technology and consider industry trends and future requirements as defined in the Infrastructure roadmap

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; education preferably concentrated in IT, Engineering or Science; Master degree preferred
• 8+ years' experience in IT Infrastructure
• 3+ years' managerial experience and/or demonstrated leadership experience
• Experience managing IT projects within a global environment
• Pharma/Biotech or similarly regulated environment experience desirable
