Business Development Director - to join a full service, mid-size CRO.

I am partnered with a global, full service CRO who support pharmaceutical, biotech & medical device companies in optimizing their clinical development timelines, regulatory strategies & high quality, personalised trials.

Offering advanced cutting-edge technology, coupled with specialist teams across the globe. My client strives to improve the way clinical research is performed.

With a focus on Oncology, Rare Diseases, Gastroenterology, Nephrology & Women’s health. They have successfully brought new therapies & medications to market, impacting the lives of patients all over the world.

My client is looking for an experienced business development director, to join a high performing European team, selling clinical research services.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to be part of a unique & forward thinking CRO. Who are making an impactful difference to the world of clinical trials!

You will be responsible for selling the Clinical Research services within France & other defined countries in Europe and collaborate with Business Development staff to ensure sales goals are achieved. The Director maintains a high-activity sales effort that is documented and managed in workbooks and provide timely reports, account analysis and industry knowledge to develop effective and successful account strategies.

You will manage long standing accounts and nurture the business relationship within these accounts.

There are no supervisory responsibilities with this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct sales activities: prospecting, lead generation, cold calling, f2f client meetings
  • Generate new business from new & existing accounts
  • Develop & maintain ongoing client relationships
  • Experience in bids, proposals & negotiations
  • Able to work collaboratively with teams across the business to ensure clients & sponsors needs are being met
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, therapeutic meetings & events
  • Track & manage, activities, meetings, leads, sales forecasting & contacts
  • Experience with Salesforce is desirable

Requirements:

  • 2+ years industry related sales experience selling into Pharma, Biotech or Medical device companies – within Europe
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • MBA is preferred
  • Strong organisational & communicational skills
  • Self-motivated, able to assigned & accomplish independent goals
  • Team collaboration skills – able to work across multiple teams to accomplish collective goals
  • Clinical experience – able to demonstrate an understanding of clinical research / clinical ops / data management / laboratory or pre-clinical
  • Knowledge of clinical study guidelines FDA & GCP
  • Proven success in a quota driven sales environment, managing accounts & implementing programs
  • Fluent in English – additional European languages are a plus
  • Must be able to travel within Europe
