Translational Science – Lead Scientist – Immunology Oncology

We have an exciting opportunity as a Exploratory Translational Medicine Lead with a Oncology focused Biotechnology company based in Belgium. This is a fantastic opportunity for a preclinical and clinical scientist interested in oncology to jump into a brand new position leading taking existing clinical candidates back to preclinical to investigate their potential in other new indications.

Responsibilities

• Lead reverse translation activities, internally (i.e. within Translational Medicine and Preclinical teams) and in collaboration with CROs and/or academic partners, to evaluate human clinical data derived from trials to further elucidate the mechanism of Action of drug candidates.
• Actively participate and lead the identification and evaluation of new pharmacodynamic and potential predictive biomarkers.
• Contribute to the clinical program project teams activities.
• Review literature and competitive landscape to stay up-to-date on new technologies and biomarkers, as well as on the Mechanism of Action of drugs in the immune-oncology field.
• Contribute to the analysis and interpretation of TM data derived from clinical trials.
• Supervise and mentor the experimental work of research assistant(s) and/or scientist(s).
• Contribute to the growth and further development of the TM team.

Requirements

• PHD in Oncology / Immunology / Immuno-Oncology
• Post Doc focussing on Immuno-Oncology OR experience in industry as a Scientist or similar
• Experience of both preclinical and clinical (human) studies would be ideal
