THERAPY AREA LEAD/ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - NEPHROLOGY - PERMANENT - UK

The Therapy Area Lead/Associate Director will oversee all medical affairs activities and deliverables for the nephrology therapy Area at the regional level, including final Medical Signatory responsibilities. The successful candidate will possess a strategic and collaborative leadership style with the ability to support a team of medical managers to ensure the success of launches.

TITLE:

Therapy Area Lead/Associate Director - nephrology

ROLE:

Within this role you will:

• Carry out Medical Final Signatory responsibilities
• Correspond with internal colleagues, external experts and regulatory bodies
• Prepare and approve internal & external scientific presentations, publication plans, external meetings, advisory boards and symposia
• Ensuring compliance with the Local Code of Practice and Local regulations law and sign
• Chair internal and external meetings as required
• Provides strategic leadership across all functions of the therapy area medical affairs department
• Maintaining knowledge of industry standards and practices and market trends
• Support training and compliance of MA staff to ensure therapy area expertise
• Hire, develop and retain a high-performing TA MA department
• Carry out performance appraisals, and conduct annual performance reviews
• To deputize for the Head of Medical Affairs when required

EXPERIENCE:

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D) or Pharmacist
• Industry experience in the areas of Medical Affairs
• Knowledge of local Regulatory/Payer/HTA bodies, ICH GCP guidelines, Industry regulations, and quality standards
• Proven team management skills
• Financial and budgetary expertise
• Experience in nephrology, renal, anaemia or cardiovascular
